Dr. Dennis Stosky

Since an early age, Dr. Stosky’s ambition was to be in the medical field. His concern for people and their wellbeing has always motivated him in his studies through school and university. In 1977, he graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Alberta in Edmonton, his home town. Dr. Stosky served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a dentist on board HMCS Preserver, at Halifax Stadacona, HMC Dockyard, the Dental Services School at CFB Borden, Ontario and lastly at CFB Chatham, New Brunswick.

Retiring with the rank of Major, he purchased his civilian practice in 1985, in New Minas, Nova Scotia. Dr. Stosky was thrilled with the opportunity to work with families and their children. Constantly updating his skills, he has enthusiastically broadened his practice into orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry and laser dentistry through many Continuing Education courses. In the fall of 2000, Dr. Stosky opened Kings Family Dentistry, a larger and updated dental facility in New Minas, which continues to serve the population of the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.

It was during his tenure with the Canadian Armed Forces in Eastern Canada, that he came to love the Annapolis Valley. It was the perfect place to raise his four children, all of whom are now enjoying their own careers. Currently, he and his wife enjoy their hobby farm along with their Poodle, their Abby cat and their two horses. Dr. Stosky’s interests, besides excellence in dentistry, are in photography, culinary arts and nutrition, fitness, horseback riding and the occasional motorcycle ride. He still maintains his interest in aviation and scuba diving, although no longer active in those sports.
